These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of presencebuilder.co (the “Site”) and any services provided by Presence Builder (“we,” “us,” “our,” “Company”), including Wikipedia page creation/cleanup, complementary profile services, and author website design (“Services”). By engaging our Services or using our Site, you (“Client,” “you”) agree to these Terms.
1. Our Services
Presence Builder provides digital visibility consulting, including:
- Wikipedia page creation and cleanup
- Complementary profile services on platforms such as Google Scholar, LinkedIn, ResearchGate/ORCID, Crunchbase, IMDb, and others, depending on your selected package
- Author/writer website design and development
- Ongoing maintenance retainers (optional, as separately agreed)
Specific deliverables, timelines, and pricing for your project will be confirmed separately (e.g., via email, invoice, or proposal) before work begins.
2. Our Process
- Identify — We review your professional record and existing online presence.
- Draft — We prepare a well-sourced, policy-compliant draft.
- Review — You review and approve the draft before anything is published.
- Publish & Maintain — Once approved, we publish the content; ongoing maintenance is available separately.
You agree to provide accurate, truthful, and verifiable information (CV, publications, sources, etc.) to support your project. We rely on the accuracy of information you provide.
3. Wikipedia-Specific Terms — Important
Wikipedia is operated by the Wikimedia Foundation, an independent organization not affiliated with Presence Builder. By engaging us for Wikipedia-related services, you acknowledge and agree that:
- No guarantee of publication or retention. Wikipedia’s notability, neutrality, and sourcing standards are determined solely by Wikipedia’s own volunteer editors and policies. We prepare content in good faith to comply with these standards, but we cannot guarantee that a page will be accepted, remain published, or avoid future edits/deletion by Wikipedia editors, since Wikipedia content is not owned or controlled by any paid party.
- Paid editing disclosure. In compliance with the Wikimedia Terms of Use, we disclose our paid engagement on relevant article talk pages and/or edit summaries, as required. We do not offer or perform undisclosed paid editing.
- No control over third-party edits. Wikipedia pages can be edited by any registered or anonymous user at any time. We are not responsible for edits made by third parties after publication, though maintenance retainer clients may request that we monitor and respond to such changes.
- No promotional or biased content. We do not write promotional, one-sided, or non-neutral content, as this violates Wikipedia policy and risks page removal.
4. Fees and Payment
- Pricing for each package (Starter, Full, Premium) or retainer (Scholar, Exec, Institutional) will be confirmed in writing before work begins.
- Payment is processed via PayPal or Wise. Our standard workflow is draft-first, payment collected before publication, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
- Retainer services are billed on a recurring (typically monthly) basis and continue until cancelled by either party with reasonable notice, as specified in your retainer agreement.
- All fees are non-refundable once a draft has been delivered and approved and/or once publication has occurred, except as set out in Section 5.
5. Refunds and Cancellations
- If you cancel before we begin drafting, you may be entitled to a full or partial refund, less any work already completed, at our discretion.
- Because Wikipedia publication outcomes depend on independent Wikipedia review (see Section 3), refunds are not guaranteed solely on the basis that a page was later edited, flagged, or removed by Wikipedia editors after being properly published in accordance with Wikipedia policy.
- Any refund requests should be sent to info@presencebuilder.co and will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
6. Client Responsibilities
You agree to:
- Provide accurate and truthful information and sources
- Review and approve drafts in a timely manner
- Not request content that is false, defamatory, promotional in violation of platform policies, or otherwise unlawful
- Maintain any login credentials (if shared) securely
7. Intellectual Property
- Draft content prepared for you becomes yours upon full payment, for the purpose of publication on the agreed platform(s).
- Once published on Wikipedia, content is licensed under Wikipedia’s own open-content licensing terms (e.g., Creative Commons), as governed by the Wikimedia Foundation — not by Presence Builder.
- We retain the right to reference completed projects in our portfolio/case studies unless you request confidentiality in writing.
8. Confidentiality
We treat all client information (professional records, drafts, personal details) as confidential and will not share it with third parties except as necessary to deliver the Services or as required by law.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Presence Builder shall not be liable for:
- Actions taken by Wikipedia, its editors, or any third-party platform, including edits, removal, or rejection of content
- Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of our Services
- Delays caused by factors outside our reasonable control
Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the total fees paid by you for the specific Service giving rise to the claim.
10. Termination
We reserve the right to decline or discontinue Services to any individual or organization, including in cases involving requests for false, misleading, defamatory, or policy-violating content.
11. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by applicable local law based on the jurisdiction in which Presence Builder operates, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. (To be finalized based on your registered business jurisdiction.)
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of our Site or Services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
